MUA LUXE Velvet Lip Lacquer in "Criminal" & "Kooky" *Review & Swatches*

I was very excited to try out these matte lip lacquers as I´ve been lusting over the Lime Crime Velvetines for ever, but never taken the splurge (again, they´re pretty expensive included shipping + taxes to Norway).

I saw some reviews on these and decided to give them a try!

Both colors give excellent color payoff and I had no trouble with applying them - both glides on very easily and I didn´t experience any patchiness.. 

Having hydrated lips is a good tip though as they do have a matte finish and we all know what happens if you don´t have hydrated lips ;)

They are a lot thicker in formula than Lime Crime Velvetines and they do not have that delicious scent to them. They don´t smell a thing actually, but I don´t mind. 

I actually adore both colors - and perhaps especially "Criminal". I find it drying to a even more matte finish that "Kooky" - it feels a bit thicker in formula for some reason..

I´m not very picky about staying power unless we´re talking extremely lousy staying power.

I feel these do the job perfectly to the price of $5. If you expect a matte finish lip lacquer to stay on all day without getting patchy when you´re out all day and eating and drinking regularly - without touching up, then I would say you´re having a tiny bit high expectations - not for these in particular, but for lip products in general. 

Just make sure to have hydrated lips when you apply this and to touch up during the day and I think you´ll be more than fine! 

I really want to buy the red Lip Lacquer  as well, I would love to do a budget/dupe test for the Lime Crime Red Velvet (which is amazing and will be up on the blog soon)

CRIMINAL (£3 / $5):

A beautiful bright pink, perfect for summer! Absolutely in love with this color.. However I´m not feeling it quite yet, we´re having snowstorms over here and I just can´t do bright pink lips then... I can´t wait for warmer weather and a nice opportunity to wear it :)

KOOKY (£3 / $5):

Definitely a color I would try out if I´m going for a more grungey, rocker look!

My dark lipstick obsession has calmed down now and I´m a totally nude lips girl at the moment, so I don´t see myself wearing this quite yet either! But don´t you worry, the time will come ;-)

I´m not doing much these days sadly, I´ve just recently started wearing makeup again after weeks of not wearing a drop of foundation, I´m mostly alone in the house all day and putting on makeup and a cool lippie can either be way too much work or totally just what I need to get in a good mood ;-)

These lovely lacquers totally made my day and I still can´t believe what you get for that price!
